Time:5:19 pm.
Mood: ecstatic.
Hello Everyone!

It's that time of year again, my birthday. :) Since I don't have all of your e-mail addresses, I thought I would just invite you via live journal.

I'll be celebrating on Friday April 21st at Social (http://www.socialbarnyc.com) and I'd love to see you. The party starts right after work (around 5:30), probably on the third floor or the roof.

Stop in for happy hour or come for the whole night...whatever works for you. Personally, I'll be there till the wee hours.

Social has burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and tons of other munchies for when you get hungry.

Feel free to bring friends/significant others and of course pass this along to anyone I may have missed.

Hope to see you there!

Subject:Food
Time:5:23 pm.
I forgot to mention the food I consumed on Saturday...

Breakfast: A breakfast burrito with French Fries (from Chik-fil-a)

Tailgating: Champaign

Lunch: A Whole milk milk shake (because my throat hurt and they don't have skim milk)

Dinner: Pasta

Dessert: Almond Joy ice cream made by a local shop

So.... to recap, I got my FDA approved 2 servings of fried food, 2 servings of ice cream, 1 serving of carbs, and one serving of alcohol.

Man was I healthy!

Subject:My time in Atlanta...a recap
Time:5:11 pm.
I feel like I have been a little MIA, so I thought I would do a quick post....

Last week I was in Atlanta for work and then stayed with a friend, Warren, for the weekend. The main reason I was there was for Rogaine Focus groups. Basically my job was to sit in dark room and ate M&M’s for 6 hours while listening to balding men complain about their condition. EXCITING! Unfortunately, I came down with the flu/cold on Thursday night and couldn’t sleep for the rest of the weekend. BOOOO. I was up all night on Thursday, which made Friday a real drag. I laid poolside for a while, but then went on a long excursion around Atlanta looking for a drug store! I met up with Warren on Friday afternoon and we enjoyed a great dinner at a trendy place called Shout. (Interestingly, the owners have another restaurant called Twist.) I couldn't believe how inexpensive dinner turned out to be (about $60 for dinner with appetizer and drinks). We then went to an outdoor “New Orleans” style bar, followed by a club for dancing that lasted into the wee hours of the morning. Saturday was a University of Georgia football game in Athens, GA. My friend Paige warned me to get dressed up for the game. I didn't really believe her until I arrived and saw all the girls in formal black and red dresses. It seems odd to me, but I guess that is the tradition in the South. By the time we got back to Atlanta we were exhausted so we went for an Italian dinner then crashed on the couch for the night. (BTW, Italian food in Atlanta….not a pretty sight. It tasted awful. The sauce had cinnamon in it!) Sunday we went for a yummy traditional Georgian biscuit breakfast. I flew back yesterday and crashed.

The whole weekend I was a little sick. I had the worst sore throat ever AND a fever. But I was a trooper and plowed thought it anyway. I feel better today, which is the good news.

So as many of you know, I am trying online dating. Thus far it has been very successful. Nice, educated, sophisticated guys (except Mike). Overall, they have been respectable men. Today, however, I got the crème de la crème of into e-mails. This is from a person that I have NEVER talked to. We have had NO open communication. E-Harmony matched us up and we saw each others profile but have never talked. (Keep that in mind as you read this). Get ready for it...

"Hey hun how have you been? Well I have been doing well, and moreover im not into playing games. Well im 23 years old, I will be 24 on February 21st, and I graduated KEAN UNIVERSITY with a degree in Criminal Justice. As of now I work full time at the CVS in Florham Park and I part time as the Asst. Manager at a gas station in Chatham. I only work at the station 1 or 2 shifts a week.
Well its getting late but I just wanted to say "hi" and let you know that I am interested in our encounter. Before you find some other "hot guy" that sweeps you off your feet before I ever get the chance! lol haha Well I hope you had a good evening and I look forward to hearing back from you! Thnaks

Seems like a real winner; a gas station attendant AND a CVS employee! When do I get my wedding ring?

Subject:Get ready to be proud of me...
Time:11:26 am.
Mood: Energized.
I did something so unlike myself that even I can't believe it!

I joined a gym (granted, it is a girly gym, but a gym none the less)! I even got up early this morning and went. YAY!

This is a big step for me considering I have never played sports (unless you count 6th grade softball where I played outfield and never even attempted to catch a ball) and have never really even stepped foot in a gym.

So, I think the big question is how long will it take before I become unmotivated and stop going (personally, I give it 2 weeks). Who wants to place a bet? :)

Subject:I am way too nice
Time:6:10 pm.
Mood: cranky.
Today was my last summer Friday and I should have gotten out by noon...at the latest. But Mitsubishi kept calling asking me to do stuff for them AND I volunteered to help a co-worker, Kate.

Now Kate is awesome. She always is there when I need a hand with something or an ear to bitch to. I love Kate, I truly do. So when she said she needed to leave on time today to make it home for her sister's b-day, and asked I mind cover for her I said of course not. HOWEVER, she told me that I would be out by about 3 (4PM at the latest). Well it is now 6:15 and I am nowhere near being done. (Luckily we have to make the 9pm Fed-Ex, so I HAVE to be finished by then.)

What makes this situation SUCK is that I truly am just sitting around waiting for someone else to do their job. I am totally just supervising (i.e. bored). What sucks even more is that I was out all night (literally...I got 45 minutes of sleep) so right now it is a struggle to just keep my eyes open.

The only good thing about this situation is that Kate's product is Levitra, so I have been talking about sex all afternoon. :)

Anyway, I think I may go find a couch and take a nap till we are done here.

This is just another example of Sandra being stupid. Lessons learned: 1. You are not in college anymore and can not live on less then an hour's worth of sleep. 2. Say no to people when they ask you to give up your free time to work.

Subject:GOOD NEWS!!!!
Time:4:24 pm.
Mood: jubilant.
You will all be very happy to know that I will be turning down the job in LA.

YAY!

After talking with my potential boss, I decided that:

1. the position I was offered wasn't what I really wanted to be doing (making newspaper and radio ads for car dealers...blah!)
2. LA is full of pretty people who would probably piss me off (a lot)
3. Finishing school was totally worth it (and I am alredy half way done anyway)
4. If this opportunity came around once it probably will again.

The only downside is that I am missing out on a promotion and thus a raise. But the good news is that I am still here for a little while longer. :)

Subject:Dumb Sandra
Time:10:13 am.
Mood: exhausted.
Yesterday I was at my Pfizer client in NJ for a noon meeting. The meeting went till about 2:30 at which point I made the executive decision not to go back to the office. I mean, I have a laptop and there was nothing I needed to be physically in the office for, so why go in? The only problem was that I forgot my power cord and I only had about 2 hours of battery life left. So, naturally, rather then do the project, which was do today, I decided to screw around on the internet. Before I realized it, I was out of power and hadn't even started the project. Oops.

So, I went to sleep last night, figuring that I could just get up and go to the office early. At that point, getting up at 5:30 seemed do-able. But when the alarm went off this morning, man, was it challenging.

Anyway, I managed to get in by by 6:45 to do the project that I should have done yesterday. Luckily I just finished and sent it off to my boss.

I have a feeling I will be asleep at my desk by mid-afternoon. :)

Lesson learned: Procrastination is a bitch. It always bites me in the ass.

Subject:Did you see the eposode of "Sex in the City" where SJP was dumped on a post-it?
Time:3:38 pm.
Mood: amused.
Need a laugh? Here's a good story for you.....

One hot, humid Saturday night a group of friends were going to dinner. One of the girls (we'll call her Sandra) was casually seeing a boy (we'll call him Mike). Sandra invited Mike to dinner with said group of friends. They met and were having a nice meal. Mike, however, kept excusing himself from the table to answer telephone calls. After the third call, Sandra followed him outside to see how he was doing, he said (with a very sad face) that he was having family issues. You see, his Grandmother has been very sick and his family was trying to decide if they should take her off life support or not. Apparently the grand father did not want to but the rest of the family thought the situation was hopeless and therefore time to end it.

Very sad.

So, Sandra (being the good person she is) encouraged him to leave - in the middle of dinner- so that he could be with his family. Mike said goodbye to Sandra's friends and left. Sandra did not hear back from Mike until Monday at 3pm...

Via TEXT MESSAGE (!!!!) Mike said, "Sandra, im sorry but i must stop talking w you. I have issues w my ex that i want to resolve. Please understand that if we might be able 2 fix it i want 2 try" (note: the capitalization and punctuation were mirror the actual phone message.)

So, moral of the story, if you want to stop seeing someone, cut out of dinner early by blaming your dying grandmother and then dump the person by text message.

I knew he was a classy guy. :)

(Side note: For those of you who don't know, I just wasn't that into him anyway, so the story is doubly funny when you understand that I could truly care less.)

OK. Here I am!!!! Finally. I have a Live Journal (thanks to [info]bradamant and [info]dennis_obell).

As my first posting, I felt an obligation to begin with a warning:

To you the reader of this journal…..be forewarned that I am officially (yes, officially--- there was a contest and I won) the worst speller on the planet. So, if you choose to continue reading you must accept the fact that my Live Journal will be filled with an exorbitant amount of spelling errors and grammatical blunders. If this will offend you (or drive you crazy), I suggest you stop reading right now.

You are still here? OK, Good. Now that that is out of the way, we can begin.

Basically, after significant coaxing by the Ocean City gang, I am going to take the plunge into the world of Live Journal. After hearing so much about it over the years, it is time I get in gear and join the party. I can't tell you what this journal will be about since this is my first attempt, but my guess it will be a lot of ramblings about nothing. Stay tuned for more…
